FGS Offers Lunch Drawing for Local Insurance Agencies
As a gesture of appreciation, FGS offered a FREE PIZZA DRAWING for local insurance agents and the response was overwhelming! We plan to continue pulling names until the first drop of snow. Therefore, if your office hasn't entered, now is the time!!
In addition, I would like to thank all the agencies that participated. I must say that not only did I love sampling the different pizza restaurants throughout the Northeast, but I enjoyed spending time with all of you as well!

FGS Assists in Recovery from Wyoming Area Blast
On Saturday August 1, 2009, an explosion in a nearby home caused extensive damage to a neighborhood in nearby Exeter, including buildings of the Wyoming Area School District. Both the JFK Elementary Center and the Wyoming
Area High School suffered considerable damage to the interior and exterior, including classrooms, roof, kitchen & cafeteria, windows, doorways, etc.
In response to the request of the school district, FGS initiated a full response to the damages that had threatened the timely start of the school year. The full complement of FGS expertise was brought to bear in completing the project in time for the scheduled opening of school.

Areas of work addressed included the coordination of subcontractors to complete window and door installations, replacement of the damaged roof, ceiling and ductwork repairs, and the clearing of debris from in excess of 50 classrooms in preparation for final cleaning.
Working in close coordination with Wyoming Area Superintendent Ray Bernardi and Director of Maintenance Dave Amico, FGS was able to facilitate the reconstruction of damaged areas and to ensure the timely opening of the schools.
Following the opening of school, FGS conducted a Fire Safety Program for the elementary school students. Danielle Sciandra, Director of Development and Al Zekoski, 1-800 Board Up Fire Services Coordinator, conducted the program that included gifts for the students and teachers in addition to the educational program.

FGS Golf Event Raises $10,000 for Charities
Irem Country Club was the scene of the 25th Annual First General Services Golf Tournament, held on Friday September 11, 2009. In spite of almost constant rain, the largest turnout in the event's long history contributed to making this the most successful day ever.
With over 90 registered golfers and 40 hole sponsors and contributors, the event raised in excess of $10,000 making it an unqualified success. All monies generated through the golf fees and sponsor payments will be turned over to the Luzerne Foundation for distribution to Luzerne County based charitable organizations for assisting those less fortunate members of our community.
In the past organizations receiving assistance included the American Red Cross, Creating Unlimited Possibilities, the St. Vincent de Paul Kitchen, Toys for Tots, the Make A Wish Foundation, and the Catherine McAuley House.
The winning team in this year's event was comprised of Chris Clauss, Joe Gaughan, Dave Lapatka, and Al Launchi, representing the team sponsored by the Clauss-Bovard Insurance Agency.
FGS' owner, John C. Sobeck, would like to extend to all participants, contributors and supporters the Company's sincerest thanks for making the 25th anniversary of the annual event the most successful ever.
