First General Services Newsletter For over twenty-three (23) years, First General Services (FGS) of NE Pa. has been responsive to the emergency and restoration needs of homeowners and commercial locations throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania. Our Certified Restoration Specialists are prepared to continue our efforts in meeting this constantly changing, and ever present need. In the past several months, we at FGS have rededicated our efforts of meeting the emerging fire, smoke, and water loss needs in our service area. We have added significantly to our professional capability of handling large loss situations through the acquisition of the latest specialized equipment, as well as staff training. Future editions of the newsletter will highlight those developments. In developing this newsletter, we sincerely hope that we will be in a better position to maintain communication with all of our contacts in this important business of serving people. We will attempt to highlight industry developments as well as the new specialized products and service offerings of FGS, and also provide a means of constant continued communication with our many professional contacts, colleagues and customers. As part of our continuing effort to improve our service and communication, the newsletter will afford recipients the opportunity of adding their friends and contacts to the ever-expanding network of subscribers. First General Services of NE Pa., recently acquired a ThermaCAM B1 Infrared Camera. The camera, acquired through Flir Systems, will be utilized in a variety of building diagnostic services for the benefit of clients of First General Services. The ThermaCAM offers a noninvasive means of monitoring and diagnosing the condition of buildings. It provides immediate documentation of as-built or post-restoration quality, post-casualty cause and origin data, plumbing and building envelope water leakage, post-flood and fire water-damaged material assessment, energy use inefficiency, and roofing. First General Services & Staff Receive Pack-Out Inventory (POI) Certification First General Services of NE Pa. recently received notification from Assured Software that four (4) members of administrative and cleaning staff had attained Pack-Out Inventory System certification. The training, completed in December 2005, was conducted through the Restoration Alliance training office. The Certification allows administrative and cleaning staff to address various aspects of documenting inventory and items benefiting from First General’s cleaning services. The additional safeguards and accountability resulting from use of the Pack-Out System will streamline First General’s on site work, cleaning and storage at our facility, and the eventual return of items to point of origin. The designation of the Company and the staff individually, assures insurers of the quality of care to be assigned to losses handled by First General.
